Obituary of Gene Lawrence Ferber

Gene Lawrence Ferber, age 72, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on March 28, 2017. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and Monday from 9-11 AM at the funeral home. Gene was born June 17, 1944 in New Albany, IN. He was a graduate of Providence High School. Gene worked for AT&T for 45 years holding multiple roles throughout his tenure. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Gene was also an active member of Southeast Christian Church. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Margaret Ferber, and sisters Melba Powell and Linda Ferber. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 45 years, Carolyn Bollinger Ferber; twin daughters Angela Trussel (Bill), Fishers, IN; Kerri Langley (Louie), Fishers, IN; daughter Tonja Foster (Mike), New Albany, IN; daughter Traci Dennison (Ron), Spring Hill, FL; and nine grandchildren. Gene had a kind and gentle heart and was loved by his family and friends immensely. He was a one of a kind man and will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Southeast Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
