Obituary of Richard W. Henry

A funeral service for Richard “Dick” Henry, of Jeffersonville, IN will be Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 5 PM at Scott Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, IN. Cremation to follow.  Visitation will be Sunday from 12PM to 5PM at the funeral home.  He passed away at home on July 27, 2017 surrounded by his family.  Dick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Dick was born in Scottsburg, IN to Clyde and Beulah McIntyre Henry.   He was one of 5 children, including Clyde Jr. (Sonny), Bobby, Gene and Mary Lee.

He was survived by his high school sweet heart and loving wife of 52 years, Rose Mary (Clemons); children, Stephen Henry (Jenny), Jennifer Henry Danner (David); and two wonderful grandchildren Liam Danner and Ava Henry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and his sister.

Dick graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in German.

After a lengthy career in IT at Citizen’s Fidelity Bank, PNC Bank and Computer Horizons, Dick retired from Jewish Hospital as the Assistant Director of IT in 2007.

Dick was an avid softball player, playing for years in various community leagues.    He continued his passion for sports by coaching little league and soccer for his children.  He was an avid golfer and passionate IU fan.
