Funeral services for Fava J. Johanningsmeier, 89, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at First Christian Church, 3209 Middle Road, Jeffersonville, IN.  Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 AM on Wednesday at the church.  She passed away on August 22, 2017.  Per her wishes, she bequeathed her body to Indiana University Medical Center. 

Fava was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.  Before starting a family, she graduated from Wishard School of Nursing in Indianapolis, IN and became a Registered Nurse.  She was an avid Jeff High Basketball fan, euchre player and world traveler.  Fava and Paul loved to vacation together and they were able to visit six continents and all 50 states.  She also was known for blessing her friends and family with lovely cards and hand-written notes. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Helen Ashley.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Johanningsmeier; three children, Debbie Wanke (Bill), Janis Zirkle (Dennis), and Mark W. Johanningsmeier (Donna); brother, Robert H. Ashley; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Allison, Kevin, April, Kyle, Carrie and Alex; and 14 great-grandchildren.
