Obituary of Mary Joan "Jo Ann" Palmer

~~Funeral services for Mary Joan “Jo Ann” Palmer, 75, of Clarksville, IN, will be held at 11 AM on, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with entombment to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.  She passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Scott Memorial Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Jo Ann was born on January 10, 1942 in Henryville, IN, to the late Hugh and Mary Pauline Schafer Houchen.  She was a retired franchisee business owner of Kentucky Fried Chicken for more than 30 years.   Jo Ann was a sweet and loving lady that will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Jo Ann is survived by her loving son, Michael Palmer and his wife Elaine; two grandchildren of whom she was most proud, Chase and Colten Palmer; a sister, Barbara Howser and her husband Charles; and her ex-husband, Charles Palmer.
Jo Ann will be donating her brain as her mother and other members of her family did to Indiana University School of Medicine in hopes to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
