Obituary of Mitchell Shea Ayers

Funeral Services for Mitchell Ayers, 70, of Jeffersonville, IN will be on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11 AM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 – 8 PM at the funeral home with Masonic Services taking place at 7 PM and on Friday from 9 – 11 AM. Mitchell passed away on November 30, 2017 surrounded by family.

Mitchell was born on January 19, 1947 to Edward Sr. and Margaret Ayers in Bullitt County, KY. He was a scale operator at Essrock Cement Company for 32 years.  He was also a member of the North Star Masonic Lodge in Jeffersonville, IN. Mitchell loved to barbeque, and spent many of his Saturdays tailgating for U of L football games. He also loved spending time with his grandson, Cameron.

Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Margaret Ayers; and his sister, Lillie Beauchamp.

Mitchell is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Beverly Cornelison (Terry) and Matthew Ayers; grandson, Cameron Cornelison; siblings, Edward Ayers Jr., Charles Ayers (Darlene), Barbara Thompson (Roger), Doug Ayers Sr., and Wayne Ayers; aunt, Jaunita Johnson (Joe); and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Corydon. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
