Obituary of Nancy Lee Harvey

~~A Celebration of Life for Nancy Lee Harvey, 87, of Clarksville, IN, will be held at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville, Indiana on Monday, December 11, 2017  from 4-8 PM.  She passed peacefully at home on Monday, December 4, 2017.
Nancy was born, June 29, 1930 in Oldham County, KY, to the late Clarence and Martha Sadler Oldson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Jay Harvey; her husband, Lee C. Harvey; a brother, James Oldson; and a sister, Edythe Oldson-Hubbard.
Nancy’s remaining family are her three granddaughters, Shannon Renee Hughes (John); Brianna Leigh Wheatley; Alainna Kathleen Truax (Chad); three great grandchildren, Jayda Lynn Ross; Kara Leigh Wheatley; Silas Chandler Truax; daughter-in-law, Dana Lynn Ross (Brian); a brother, Lloyd Oldson (Kathleen) of Orlando, FL; a sister, Dorothy Brun (Al) of Louisville, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a member of the Grantline United Methodist Church and later the Sellersburg UMC. She enjoyed singing in the choir and being with her church family.
Before retiring Nancy worked as the head bookkeeper for the Sears & Roebuck store in downtown Louisville, where she met and fell in love with Lee Harvey.
After leaving Sears, Nancy focused all of her endeavors in family and community. She was a volunteer for more than twenty years at the Kentucky Center and five years at the Louisville Palace. She worked annually for the Kentucky State Fair, as Information “Know it All” and was a beloved worker at the Farm & Machinery Show for years. Nancy could always tell a person “Where to go and How to get there”. She volunteered for many years working as an Election official in her Clarksville precinct and held a lifetime membership with the Order of the Eastern Star, Salem Chapter 286.
Nancy was a gifted seamstress and taught herself to crochet, knit and embroider. Many who knew Nancy usually received a hand crafted item. She loved doing for others and always had a project going in the basement sewing room or in the basket by her chair.
