Obituary of Dhana Elaine Conner

Dhana Conner, 49, of Georgetown, Indiana passed away on December 25, 2017 from complications of cancer.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  Dhana was born to Kenneth Conner and the late Paula Conner on July 15, 1968 at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington.  Dhana was the most amazing daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was so brave and an encourager to all who knew her.  

Dhana graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1986 and continued on to receive a BS in Secondary Math Education and a MBA, both from Indiana University Southeast.  She tutored many people in math over the years, including children and refugees.  

Dhana worked with dedication for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Rating Quality Review Specialist.  She had a deep impact on countless numbers of veterans, as she worked on their behalf.

Dhana volunteered for various organizations over the years, usually with an emphasis on youth.  She loved to travel and was always planning her next trip.  She’d been to multiple countries in Asia, as well as Australia, Israel, Scotland and Bosnia to name a few.  Dhana loved taking care of her two cats, crafting, playing the piano, spending time with friends and family-especially her niece and nephew.  She loved to entertain and had amazing hostessing skills.  None of us will ever forget the amazing shrimp boils and Derby parties she hosted over the years.  

Dhana is survived by her father, Kenneth Conner, her sister, Christy Charles, brother-in-law Mike, and her niece Lydia and nephew Conner.  

Dhana is preceded in death by her sister, Kimberly Ellen and her mother, Paula Conner.  

The funeral service will be held at 1pm on December 30, 2017 at Scott Funeral Home.  Pastor Jerry Smart will be officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4pm-8pm on Friday, December 29th and 11am-1pm on Saturday, December 30th, also at Scott Funeral Home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Make A Wish foundation, envelopes provided by the funeral home.  The family wishes to thank all of the friends and family that have provided prayers and support
