Margaret Elizabeth (Allen) Scrivner, 79, of New Albany, IN, passed away peacefully at her home the morning of Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1201 Thomas V. Bryant, Jeffersonville, with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany, IN.  Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 PM on Saturday at the church.  Scott Funeral Home of Jeffersonville has been entrusted with the arrangements. 

Margaret was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  She dedicated her life to gracefully serving others in her home, church and community. She enjoyed working at the New Albany Floyd County School cafeterias and was an exceptional baker at Momma Lou's Bakery.  Her favorite past time was spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren.

She was born on April 23, 1938 in Jeffersonville, IN to the late Leonard Sr. and Helen Allen.  Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, James Harold “Jimmy” Scrivner; and brother, Leonard Allen Jr.

Margaret is survived by her children:  James Scrivner Jr. (Olga), Kirk Scrivner (Cathy), Regina Scrivner Tibbs (Fran), Glenn Scrivner (Karen), Jonathan Scrivner (Denise), Raymonda Stevens (Olu); brothers:  James Allen (Charlene) and Marvin Allen Sr. (Nola B.); sisters:  Phyllis Cameron (Charles), Janice Stephenson (Joe), Darlene Jones (Andre Sr.) and Karolyn Allen Patton (Walter Jr.); sister-in-law, Vivian Barbour (Charles)12 grandchildren:  Joshua, Tiffany, Erin, Corrigan, Miles, Shelby, Savannah, Evan, Chase, Kennedy, Sierra and Justin; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
