Obituary of Carl Ray Brishaber

A Celebration of Life for Carl Ray Brishaber, 69, of Clarksville, IN, will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Speed Memorial Church, 328 US 31, Sellersburg, IN.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 10-2 PM at the church.  He passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Clark Memorial Hospital.  Cremation was chosen and Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville has been entrusted with his care. 

Carl was born on November 22, 1948 in New Albany, IN, to Elnora Brishaber and the late Max Brishaber.  He retired as Major from the Clark County Sherriff’s Office after 32 years of service.  Carl was an avid outdoorsman, an excellent cook, and he appreciated a cold beverage while watching Nascar.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. 

Along with his father, Carl was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Zachary Taylor and Huck Turner Skaggs. 

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Susan Brishaber; five children, Dana Skaggs (Brandon); Carl Brishaber Jr. (Megan Wood); Tracy Hutton (Lyndal); Michelle Hull (Willie); Lisa Cole (Doug); his mother, Elnora Brishaber; four siblings, Christine Jackson (Buddy); Larry Brishaber (Toni); Lenora Hunter; Joy Bell (Paul); seven grandchildren, Garrett, Sophie, Bronlyn, Aaron, Allie, Holly, Summer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
