Obituary of Raymond Owen Stone

A Celebration of Life for Raymond Owen Stone, 73, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with a private burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM and after 9 AM on Friday at the funeral home.  He passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Baptist Floyd Hospital.  

Raymond was born on February 9, 1944 in Louisville, KY to the late Owen and Anna Stone.  Shortly after he and Pat married, Raymond joined the National Guard and served as senior records supervisor for six years.  He and his father founded the Zimmerman Stone Company and operated their family business successfully for over 50 years.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville and was known as one of the most caring, giving and loving men anyone could meet.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Pat Stone; a son, Larry Stone (Carrie); two sisters, Debbie Porta (Tom); Beverly Breast; three grandchildren (to whom Raymond always said "yes"), Justin Stone, Owen Stone, Evan Stone; five nieces and nephews, Danielle Schmiz (Donny); Adam Kuzina; Alex Kuzina (Brittany); Micci Frye (Jeff); Shawn Schechter (Christy); great nephew, Owen Kuzina; great niece, Nina Rose Kuzina; and a brother-in-law, Mike Schechter (Cindy). 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Crusade for Children, First Presbyterian Church, or Hosparus of Southern Indiana.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
