Hattie M. Washington, 94, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on May 3, 2018.

Hattie was born on January 5, 1924 to the late Clarence and Naomi Clipper. She was employed at Goodyear Plant in Charlestown, IN until she decided that she wanted to explore the world. Her travels eventually led her to New York City, where she resided in Harlem for over 50 years. During her stay, she worked in the hotel industry. She held jobs as a housekeeper and union representative in places such as The St. Regis Hotel, The Mark Hotel, and the UN Hotel. She also spent time in the hotel industry in the Catskills Mountains of New York. Hattie loved the hustle and bustle of New York City, and she enjoyed meeting and working with people of different nationalities.

Along with her parents, Hattie is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Washington; son, Shawn Sneed; and brother, Clarence Walter Clipper.

Hattie is survived by her daughter, Deena Marie; grand-daughter, Elizabeth Clipper; great grand-son, Lennox M. Calahan; sister, Flora Clipper; and a host of cousins and friends.
