Obituary of Derek D Rickard

A funeral service for Derek D. Rickard, 39, of Georgetown, IN will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 5 PM at Scott Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, IN.  Visitation will be Saturday from 1 – 5 PM at the funeral home.  He passed away May 9, 2018. 

Derek was a member of the Local 502 Pipefitters Union where he completed a five year Journeyman apprenticeship and was currently working for Louisville Mechanical.  He had 20 years of experience as a tradesman, with licenses in HVAC, Plumbing and Boilers. He was a graduate of Ivy Tech College.  He was an avid musician and loved playing the guitar and drums.  He and his wife attended several concerts and festivals to enjoy live music.  He loved to be active and enjoyed the outdoors, he was always ready for the next adventure   

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ervin and Joanne Rickard and Larry M. and Barbara Shultz. 

Derek is survived by his father, Greg Rickard, mother Brenda Rickard (Craig Uhl); wife, Shannon Rickard; son, Elijah Rickard; sister Allison Rickard; stepsons, Thomas and Trevor Coyle; niece, Josalyn Ducharme; and nephew, Nate Gary.
