Billy Mahe, 89, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on June 1, 2018. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Branham Tabernacle, 804 Penn Street, Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN.

Billy was born on December 21, 1928 to Helen Darling Herrick and WWI Veteran, Henry Mahe.  He was raised from the time he was 2 years old by the Oddfellows of Illinois, and his devotion to the children’s home was never failing.  His time at the Oddfellow’s Home between 1935 and 1946 were happily remembered.  He was a farmhand and did everything from gathering eggs to milking the cows, and spent his free time riding horses.  He graduated from Lincoln Community High School and then enlisted in the Navy.  He spent three years in the Navy serving in Guam and in the Pacific on the Heavy Cruiser USS Toledo, and then an additional 17 and a half years in the United States Air Force.  After serving his country in WWII, Korea and Vitenam wars, he retired after 20 and a half years in the United States Military.  He and Bessier retired to Jeffersonville, IN, where they raised their children and were member of Branham Tabernacle. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Lynnette Mahe.

He is survived by his loving wife of years, Bessie Mahe; daughter, Melody Hammontree (Douglas); son, Kenneth Mahe; grandchildren, William Hammontree (Holly), Joseph Hammontree (Katy), Seth Hammontree (Tina), Isaac Hammontree (Shannon); sixteen great-grandchildren, Laiken Hope Hammontree, Kaitilyn Faith Hammontree, Willow Hammontree, Sydni Mae Hammontree, Mary Kate Smith, Luke Hammontree, Levi Hammontree, Seth Miller (Kaydi), Riley K. Miller, Aiden Hammontree, Noah Hammontree, Laney Hammontree, Gracie Hammontree, Jordan Collins, and Micah Hammontree.
