Barbara Preis Bentley
April 6, 1943-August 14, 2018

Barbara Bentley died Tuesday, August 14 at Norton East Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends.  Born to Maybell and Jack Preis in Louisville.  She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, George and her brother, Jack. She is survived by her daughters Alison and her husband, Philip Thurman; Lisa and her wife, Julia Boyd and her grandchildren, Melanie Harris and her son, Brayson, Jim Braden, Katie and her husband, Gregory Ketchem and their son, Jackson, and Robby Harris. She also leaves her cherished friends, Betty Unruh, Vic and Aggie Matibag, their family, and her sister-in-law, Patty Bentley.

A lifelong resident of Southern Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky, Barbara enjoyed theater, music, days at the track, and her Sunday brunches with her family.  She had a fulfilling and demanding career as a Registered EEG Technologist and was a valued and integral member of Southern Indiana Neurology Associates, from which she retired in 2016.  Most of all, she enjoyed her family and friends who will cherish her always. Loyal and independent, Barbara was an intense fan of the Louisville Cardinals and often taped games as she would be too nervous to watch them live. Barbara was outspoken and direct; you always knew where you stood.

As Barbara was a devoted and conscientious pet owner, she loved her Maggie, and Sam, Benjamin, and most recently, little Norma. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to a pet charity of your choice, take your family to brunch, or eat a lot of chocolate!

We will gather to celebrate Barbara's full and complete life at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN.  Visitation will be held from 12 to 3 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
