Doug Coughlan, 36, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 with his wife and daughter by his side.

He was born April 6, 1982 in Limerick City, Ireland to John and Margaret (Madigan) Coughlan. He and his family lived in Bahrain from the early age of three to the age of twelve.

After returning to Foynes, Co. Limerick, Ireland, Doug was schooled at St. Munchin's College Limerick and National University of Ireland at Maynooth, where he met the love of his life, and came to Jeffersonville to live with his future in-laws while he earned his Master's Degree from the University of Louisville.

Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Coughlan and his uncle, Bernard Madigan.

He is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Megan, and his beloved four year old daughter Rebecca (Bec); his parents John and Margaret Coughlan and sister Sophie Coughlan, Foynes, Co. Limerick, Ireland; his in-laws Deacon John and Patti Thompson,  Jeffersonville; sister-in-laws, Kelli Dattilo,  Jeffersonville and Erin Scroggins (Jerry), Clarksville; brother in law

Jonathan Thompson, Charlestown; nephews Nathan and Noah Thompson, Charlestown.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 22 from 2pm till 8pm at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, and a funeral liturgy will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Thursday, August 23 at 11am.

The family requests expression of sympathy go to a college fund for his daughter Bec that has been set up at any Chase Bank locations.
