Funeral services for Jerry Paul Snelling, 79, of Jeffersonville, IN will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN with burial to follow in Utica Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 PM and on Saturday after 11 AM at the funeral home.  He passed on Monday, September 24, 2018 surrounded by his family at Norton Hospital.

Jerry was born on September 3, 1939 in Clark County, IN, to the late William “Will Ed” & Faye Snelling.  He retired from Kitchen Kompact after 32 years and was a member of the Utica Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Trustee.  He liked to spend his free time in the garden, hunting, and watching IU Basketball. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Doris Snelling; sons, Michael Snelling and Gerald Snelling; brothers, Clarence Snelling and Dale Snelling; son-in-law, Marvin Childress; grandchildren, Meredith Jones (Sam); and great-granddaughter, Madelynn Jones.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Childress; brothers, Donald Snelling and Carl Snelling; and sister, Mary Lou Thomasson.
