Obituary of James Cortner

A funeral service for James Cortner, 86, of Jeffersonville, IN will be Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Scott Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM with a Masonic Service conducted at 7 PM at the funeral home.  He passed away at his residence on September 28, 2018. 

James was born July 4, 1932 in Marysville, IN to parents Lester and Fanny (Walton) Cortner.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver for Nabisco.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Berniece; daughter Charlotte Gutman; son Michael Brooks; and a brother Paul Cornter. 

Survivors include his sons; Charles Brooks and Stephen Brooks; daughter Sharon Rivard (Rick); sisters, Margaret Hayes, Janet Whisman, and Carol Wampler; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
