Obituary of Russell "Russ" H. White Jr.

Russell “Russ” H. White, Jr. died, surrounded by his family, on November 5, 2018 at the age of 84.  Russ was born in Midway, Indiana on December 27, 1933 to Mildred (née Trinkle) White and Russell H. White, Sr.

 

An upholsterer, by trade, Russ owned and operated A.C. Upholstery for over 26 years and was a valued member of the community.  He was an avid reader and loved the outdoors. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jeffersonville.

 

Russ and Miriam (née Byrum) were married on October 3, 1954, and just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.  He is survived by his wife, Miriam, four children:  Jerry White (Nancy), of Jeffersonville; Diana White Hayden (Kenny), of Bardstown; Brian White (Michelle), of Fishers; and Donna White Eswine (Vern) of Georgetown.  He is also survived by many much-loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and three brothers, Leonard White, J White, and Garland White (Norma).  Russ is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roland White, and three grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be held at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville from 11:00-1:00 on Thursday, November 8, 2018, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00.

 

Memorial donations can be made to Center For Lay Ministries, 213 E. Maple Street, Jeffersonville, IN, 47130, or to the First Baptist Church Missions, 2402 E. 10th Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
