Obituary of Gilmer Gene Henlsey
Gilmer Gene Hensley, 83, Jeffersonville, IN, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at home surrounded by his family. At his request, funeral arrangements were private, with Scott Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, entrusted with arrangements. He was interred at Walnut Ridge Mausoleum, Jeffersonville.
He is survived by his children, Charles Hensley and Sharon Ehringer; and six grandchildren, Branden, Logan and Justin Hensley and Daniel (Adrienne), Kristen and Sarah Ehringer. Also surviving are his brother, Ethan Hensley (Paulette) of Muncie, IN, and their children.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Sarah Elizabeth Hensley; and parents, Ulysses Grant and Lura Frances Hensley.
Gene was the retired President of CommerceAmerica Banking Company, an associate with McCauley Nicolas & Co., an inaugural member of the Indiana Gaming Commission and served with numerous civic and community organizations. He graduated from Indiana University (BS) and Bellarmine College (MBA) and was a CPA. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
