Obituary of Judith "Judy" Carol Hayes

Funeral services for Judith “Judy” Carol Hayes, 76, of Clarksville, IN, will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Wall Street United Methodist Church, 240 Wall Street in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville and on Tuesday prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the church.  She passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Autumn Woods Health Campus.  

Judy was born on June 3, 1942 in Jeffersonville, IN, to the late Irvin and Willie Jewell Hayes.  She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1960 and then from Indiana University in Bloomington in 1964 with a degree in education. While teaching, she obtained her Master’s Degree in education.   Judy retired after many years of teaching from Greater Clark County Schools.  She was a lifelong member of Wall Street United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and founded the church library.  Judy was previously a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Indiana State Teachers Association, the National Education Association, and the Greater Clark Classroom Teachers Association.  She was currently a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by many close friends and her loving church family.    

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Wall Street United Methodist Church or Hosparus of Southern Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
