Obituary of L. Jeanette Yeager Herbst
Funeral services for L. Jeanette Yeager Herbst, 96, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 1 PM, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in New Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1-7 PM and on Wednesday prior to the service from 9-1 PM at the funeral home. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born on March 9, 1922 in Washington, IN, to the late John and Rosetta Meyers. She was a housewife most of her life and definitely the Matriarch of the family whom she loved very much. Jeanette enjoyed gardening, was an avid University of Louisville Cards fan, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jeffersonville.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. William Yeager; second husband, John Herbst; daughter, Lin Gross; grandson, Brent Wright; three siblings, John Meyers, Virginia Barnett, Larry Meyers; and her two faithful companions, Lucy and Fiona.
Jeanette is survived by her three children, Nancy Wright (Thomas Platt); Jim Yeager (Barbara); Deana Hester (Jim); three grandchildren, Denise Ison (Robert); Crissy Capehart; Billy Gross (Elieth); and four great grandchildren, Jake Ison, Elizabeth Ison, Cody Capehart, and Zane Gross.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Association of Clark County, 2702 Middle Road, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
