A memorial service for Alma “Mae” Carver, 96, of Georgetown, IN will be at 5 PM on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation will be on Monday, from 3 PM – 5 PM at the funeral home. She passed away on March 24, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family.

Mae was born on May 25, 1922 to the late Garlanda and Matilda Fuge. She was a 1943 graduate of St. Margaret Hospital Nursing School in Pittsburgh and then continued to her studies at University Hospital Lakeside in Cleveland for anesthesiology. Mae worked at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, Overlook Hospital in New Jersey, and retired from Glenside Nursing Home in New Jersey. She was a faithful member of Georgetown Christian Church.

Along with her parents, Mae is preceded in death by her husband, John Armand Carver, Sr.

She leaves behind her children, John A. Carver, Jr. (Carolyn), Althea Lynn Sukalo, and Marsha Hancock (Les); grandchildren, John A. Carver III (Jody), Maxim Sukalo, Alexandra Sukalo (Steven Weber), Brett Hancock (Tiffany), and Scott Hancock (Valerie); great-grandchildren, Keaton, Cameron, and Kristen Carver, Lleyton Scott Hancock, and Sage Elizabeth Hancock.
