Obituary of Betty Jean Cox
Funeral services for Betty Jean Cox, 82, will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 10-12 PM. She passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Maple Manor Christian Home.
Betty was born on June 25, 1936 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, to the late Melbourne and Dorothy Showalter. She was a homemaker most of her life and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Betty enjoyed sewing, listening to music, and going fishing.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Cox Sr.; two children, Debbie Cox and Ronald Cox Jr.; a son-in-law, Tom Price; and three siblings, Donald Showalter, Janet Peebles, and George Showalter.
She is survived by four daughters, Jean Ann Price, Connie Sue Pavey (Mark), Gailene Costner (Jimmy), Lisa Lynn Smith (Chris); a sister, Beulah Wright; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
