Obituary of Catherine Elizabeth Bohannon
Funeral services for Catherine Elizabeth Bohannon, 87, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 5-8 PM and after 9 AM on Saturday until the time of the service. She passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in New Albany.
Catherine was born on June 4, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Lawrence and Lucy Gognat. She retired from the Army Air Force Exchange in Charlestown, Indiana where she worked as a key punch operator. She enjoyed gardening, solving puzzles and relaxing oceanside at the beach. Catherine previously attended Grace Presbyterian in Clarksville and First Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville.
Along with her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Bohannon; and four siblings, Ruth Schmidt, Marie Furman, Robert Gognat, and Joe Gognat.
She is survived by her four children, Dennis (Dorene) Bohannon; Donald (Karen) Bohannon; Denise Lawrence; Daryl Bohannon; three siblings, Lawrence (Barbara) Gognat ; William (Joann) Gognat; Emma (Wayne) Mortenson; eight grandchildren, Christy, Stephen, Elizabeth, David, Daniel, Danielle, Ashly, Nicole; ten great grandchildren, T.J., Payton, Shelby, Cole, Connor, Kaleb, Liam, Avery, Eliza Kate, Lennon; and numerous extended loving family.
