Obituary of Helen Ruth Long
Helen Ruth (“Toadie”) Moore Long passed away at Bickford Memory Care Crawfordsville, on May 22, 2019 at the age of 101. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Kell (JK) Long, her grandson Nathan Hadley, her three brothers Robert, Donald and John (Jack) Moore, and two sisters Dorothy Moore and Evelyn Oster. She is survived by daughters Sheridan Hadley of Crawfordsville, IN and Sydney Long of St. Louis, MO; devoted son-in-law David Hadley; granddaughter Andrea Vermeulen (Eric); great grandsons Jake, Griffin and Owen Vermeulen; granddaughter-in-law Katy Hadley; brother-in-law Charles W. Long (Ruth); and her many nieces and nephews.
Helen was born in Clarksville, IN to Anna and Frank Moore, lived in Clark County until recently, and was a life-long member of the Ohio Falls United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer until she was 94 and will be remembered for her love of life and devotion to her extended family. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 1 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Jeffersonville. Visitation is at 11:00 a.m. with the service at 1:30 p.m. Donations in her memory can be made to Ohio Falls United Methodist Church, 917 S.
