Obituary of Paul Milton Lewis

A Funeral Mass for Paul Milton Lewis, 81, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, will be held at 11 AM, on Monday, June 3, 2019 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 315 E. Chestnut Street in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 2-6 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville. A private burial will be held in South Bend, IN at a later date. Paul passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.

Paul was born on October 10, 1937 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.  He proudly served in the US Navy between 1957-61. During his tour of duty, Paul played on the Navy’s championship winning basketball team and scored the buzzer-beating winning shot against Japan. Paul worked twenty years as the director of purchasing for American Commercial Barge Lines and fifteen years for Rev-A-Shelf in Louisville, Kentucky before retiring.  He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart and St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Clark County Casting & Conservation Club in Utica.  Paul loved living and boating on the Ohio River where he made many cherished memories with his beloved wife, daughter, and extended family. Paul was an avid sports fan but nothing compared to his Kentucky Wildcats. He loved attending UK football and basketball games with his dauhter. Paul was especially proud to be Papaw to his two young grandsons, who he loved with is whole heart and soul.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; his step-daughter, Leslie Graf; and brother-in-law/best friend, Ronnie Patterson.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rosemary (Graf) Lewis; his daughter, Julie Lovisa (Victor); two grandsons, Giovanni Paul and Leo Roman Lovisa; sister-in-law, Marita (Graf-Patterson) Garza; and numerous extended family. 

Paul’s family wishes to extend their utmost gratitude to the medical team at Clark Memorial Hospital and Adaptive Hospice.
