Linda Cunningham

Obituary of Linda Cunningham

Jeffersonville — Mary Linda Cunningham, a life-long resident of the Jeffersonville area, died peacefully Thursday the 18th of July at home beside her loving husband and companion of 35 years.

Born in 1952 in Jeffersonville, IN to Lois and Bruce Stillwell, Linda was in the last class to graduate from the old Jeffersonville High School.

Linda was a dedicated friend, civil servant, union steward, volunteer, political and community activist as well as a vocal advocate against social injustices.  Linda’s writings could often be found in local newspapers and on social media.

Linda loved Mother Nature and in her retirement volunteered at the Falls of The Ohio and helped count the number and species of frogs in Clark County as a frog monitor for the state of Indiana. She lived her life always looking for ways to be a better steward of our planet. She passed those lessons down to her children and grandchildren by taking them camping, hiking and exploring parks. She pushed for them to be outside all year long and enjoy what the different seasons have to offer.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Lois and Bruce, brother Steve and sister Patti.

She is survived by her husband Jack Cunningham, sister Sharon, sons Abe and Cole and grandchildren, Devin, Larry, Amyiah, Sofia and Baby Jack.

The family is asking for a tree or flowers to be planted in her memory in lieu of flower arrangements.
