Bryon R. Lovett “Rick”, 62, of New Albany, IN passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home. Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.

A funeral service for Rick will be at 3 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation for Bryon will be on Saturday from 10 AM – 3 PM at the funeral home. 

Bryon was born on January 26, 1957 to the late Paul and Iona Lovett. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served as a DJ for Armed Service Radio. Throughout his life, singing and music fed Bryon’s soul. He sang for several organizations including Bellarmine Oratorio Chorus, Louisville Chorus, Kentucky Opera, and the IUS Community Chorus. Bryon was also a man of faith, and used his talented voice in the Praise Band and Choir at First Christian Church. Bryon also enjoyed fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. He was known for his kind spirit, and always willing to help those in need. He enjoyed organizing blood drives for the Red Cross and assisting the Center for Lay Ministries. 

Along with his parents, Bryon is preceded in death by his sister, Winona Kaye Lovett.

Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Rachelle Lovett; children, Emily Meneely (Andy), Elizabeth Suiter (Josh), and Jessica Shivers (Charlie III); grandchildren, Charlie Shivers IV, Anastasia Shivers, and Aubrey Faith Suiter; siblings, Barry Lovett and Celia Lovett; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to First Christian Church or Center for Lay Ministry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
