Obituary of Russell Vernon Wilson

Russell "Russ" Vernon Wilson Sr. 82; Jeffersonville A celebration of life for Russell "Russ" Vernon Wilson, Sr., 82 of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy, Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow in Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM, on Tuesday at the funeral home. He passed away Friday, October 25, 2013, at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1931 to the late Homer and Viola Wilson in Guthrie, OK. He was an Army 82nd Airborne Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He founded and co-owned Wilson Travel Agency where he and Ruth traveled to over 200 countries with many loyal and devoted friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raygene Wilson, Raymond Wilson; and a sister, Fran Barger. He is survived by his loving "trophy wife" of 61 years, Ruth Wilson; a daughter, Lynda Wilson; a son, Russell "Rusty" Wilson Jr.; a brother, Revis Wilson; two sisters, Jean Logan and her husband William, and Shirlene Crewes and her husband Clarence; six grandchildren, R. Shawn Hensler and his wife Melinda, Chad (Sunny Neathamer) Dimmitt, Lauren Dimmitt, Kristina Johnson and her husband Jeff, Brian Wilson, Travis Wilson; and five great grandchildren, Alaric, Garrett, Clayton, Noelle and Hunter.
