Obituary of Rick Wedge

Richard "Rick" W. Wedge, originally of Port Huron, MI, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2013, in New Albany, IN. Rick married Linda D. Wedge (Critchelow), his sweetheart of thirty-six years, and adored his two daughters, Jennifer D. Thompson (John) and Kristy L. Cambron (Jeremy). He loved spending time with his three grandsons: Brady (7 years), Carson (4 years) and Colt Cambron (11 months). He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward W. and Margaret E. (Beckton) Wedge both of Port Huron, MI, and is survived by brothers Robert E. Wedge (Debra) of Altoona, PA, and Edward W. Wedge Jr. (Shellie) of Harlan, IN. Rick's passion for music led him to the Corydon Dulcimer Society and the Heart Strings quartet, where he played the guitar and the mountain dulcimer for over a decade. He also loved Jesus and played for the Eastern Heights Baptist Church praise band. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Rick was an architect and avid Michigan Wolverine football fan. Some of the family's favorite memories of him include: cheering for Brady at his soccer games, proudly wearing his cowboy hats, hunting for antiques with Linda, and enjoying his two boxer dogs, Marvin and Sammy. He loved playing games with his family during the holidays and enjoyed a good old western movie. In his last days, Rick blessed others by playing the dulcimer for patients and hospital staff. A celebration of Rick's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM on Saturday at the church. Scott Funeral Homes North Chapel is handling the arrangements. Rick was very loved and will be greatly missed by all, but we will see him in Heaven.
