Obituary of Elijah Hughes

Elijah "E.J." Hughes 73; Jeffersonville Funeral services for Elijah "E.J." Hughes, 73, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 2 PM, Friday, May 10, 2013, at Scott Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Eastern Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10-2 PM, at the funeral home. He passed away on Monday at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Mullins, SC, and retired from Greater Clark County School System and TARC. He was a member of the New Ebenezer AME Church in Mullins, SC, and was an avid University of Louisville fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Castella Hughes; his parents; and several siblings. He is survived by his loving devoted friend, Erma Robinson; four children, Judy Cooper; Herbert A. Hughes; Derek Hughes and his wife Adrian; Martresse Hughes-Morris and her husband Tyran; one brother, John W. Hughes and his wife Stella; ten grandchildren, Cory Norman, Brittany Hughes, Greg Hughes, Danielle Hughes, Chelby Tarver, Tayler Hughes, Christian Tarver, Derek Hughes Jr., Claire Hughes; and one great granddaughter, Courtney Norman.
