Meredith and family, I have lived in JEFF for over 50 years and I have never seen or heard a legacy like the one that Josh has left behind. If we all could be like him this world would be a better place to live and raise our children. He was an amazing man. I know it's hard at at time like this but keep your faith knowing that God has your back. He is a good good father also. I hope we will all continue to work to finish what Josh had started.

Josh was a great leader at providence as my supervisor and an amazing and caring nurse who always took great care of his patients. My heart goes out to you and your family as I cannot imagine this terrible loss of such a short life and the emotional toll this must be on your family. I hope that you remain strong and know that Josh always talked about his family as he loved you all so much. I wanted to be there for his visitation, but sadly I had to be out of town. My heart aches for your family in this tough time and you will always be in my thoughts.

Meredith, Our deepest heartfelt condolences to you and the family on your sudden loss. Josh was a fine young man who was loved and respected by many. I met Josh back when he was a teenager and it was a moment to be proud to see him grow into the man he became as if my own son. A light so desperately needed in these times that is gone too soon. Nobody knows what God has planned but may memories of Josh his light here on earth help guide us how to be. When I last spoke with Josh he was a man on a mission. His mission did not stop it still lives in those he touched. R.I.P. my son, my brother my friend.

It's a shock to the system especially because you never know the impact you truly have on others. I knew you briefly and was touched by you. You wouldn't think just saying hi, smiling, and remembering someone's name would make that much of a difference but myself being the person who struggles daily with depression, self worth, and belonging it did. So thank you for that impression left with me. I hurt for your family and pray that your wife and three kids find comfort in you even when they can't see you. I hope they are always able to feel you around them. Rest In Peace my friend.

John 14:1-6King James Version (KJV)
14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Josh, where do I start buddy? You were like a big brother to me growing up and you always made me laugh! I remember being the youngster at the gym, always wanting to play with the big guys, but they wouldn't let me play most of the time.. I knew once you came in, I was gonna get to play! I never really got to tell you what that meant to me. You helped my game develop and made me good at a YOUNG age. And I thank you so much for that!! You were a helluva man buddy and the city of Jeffersonville has lost alot! I will never ever forget you and the memories you have left me with. THANKS again and watch over all of us, and make sure our city stays safe. You were making that change Jeff needed and the world definitely needs more men like u buddy.. RIP J Rod! Love, CL

I'm very sorry to hear about Josh. His early passing has truly torn at my heart as I know much he loved his family and his community. He was one of the few childhood friends I've cherished over the years. We were young teenagers learning the ropes in the early 80's looking out after one another. We somehow managed to stay in touch periodically over the years running into one another raising children in Jeffersonville. I watched him grow into a wonderful father who was always involved with his family & community and had even ended up coaching my son in a basketball league. Everything he did in his life he was helping people & giving back to his community. He was a good man who has always had a good heart as long as I've known him. May God watch over your beautiful family until you meet again.
My deepest sympathy,
Ray P.

Hello, my name is chavon Jackson. PCA at Nortons Hospital DT. I worked beside Mr. Joshua on the Float Team. I just want the family to know that he was such a wonderful and passionate nurse. My eyes would light up when I would see he was one of my nurses I was working with when my shift started. He would always say, " ok chavon we gone have a good day today lol". I called him slick rick because his head would always shine like my dads balled head lol. Gosh, such a funny guy to be around and a smile that brighten up the whole room. I pray that god gives the beloved family strength and courage to get through this heartbreaking time. Know that he is forever around and his soul shall live through all of us.

Dear Meredith and Girls, I met Josh a few years ago while walking my dogs in the park on Park Place. He began telling me about a fountain he would like to see in the park near the gazebo he had recently built across from the beauty shop. Although I knew nothing about him, I saw a "doer" -- a capable, kind, industrious person, who wasn't afraid to think outside the box but who could relate to anyone and who took the time to chat with a stranger even though he was on his way to work. I became an instant follower of his good deeds and kept up during the election process, wishing all the best for him. He was one of those extraordinary people that you meet once in a lifetime. He had been told there was a water source in the park and he had a certain historic fountain in mind. Wouldn't it be awesome to see that come to fruition in his memory! I am beyond sorry for your loss and you will be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days.

Josh was such an awesome person, I first met him in a CPR instructors class many years ago and then it turned out that he was my son's youth basketball coach. He became a mentor to my son as well as a friend of the family. My son and his friends respected and looked up to Josh, and Josh had a way of convincing them to "help" him with things like the garden or the chicken coop. He became a friend of the family and would sometimes come for dinner or just to play basketball with the boys. He had a way with people and he will be greatly missed. It was a true pleasure knowing him and I'm thankful that he took the time to give guidance to my son, Blake Lieras.
