Obituary of Joshua "Neighborhood Josh" Rodriquez

Joshua “Neighborhood Josh” Rodriquez, 42, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 2-8 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Park Memorial United Methodist Church, 1820 E. Park Place in Jeffersonville, with visitation held prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the church. Josh was born on October 6, 1974 in Lexington, KY to the late Joyce Rodriquez. He graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1993 and worked as an RN at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was currently serving as a Jeffersonville City Councilman At-Large, most recently elected as the Democratic Party Chairman, and a member of the Clark County Democratic Alliance. He was the founder of Ladybug Gardens, JNLA, and Terraces of Park Place Neighborhood Association. Josh was a leader in the community and was a proud supporter of many other local organizations. Josh is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Meredith Clipp-Rodriquez; three children, Enrique Rodriquez; Isabella Rodriquez; Lola Rodriquez; his mother, Brenda Slaughter Bazzell; four siblings, Dell Slaughter and his wife Nikki; Stacy Slaughter and his wife Jessica; Marcus Slaughter and his wife Aisha; Ildico Chukwuencka-Hanshi and her husband Kamau; In-laws, Richard and Karen Clipp; brother-in-law, Michael Clipp; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Josh to the YMCA Annual Campaign or Clark County Democratic Party. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
