Old Bill was one of the most comforting, reassuring, kind, and humorous people I have known.
I met him through my folks and the Optimist Club, and he had oversight of services for several of my departed loved ones.
As he rests in peace and his spirit grows in the light, no doubt his imprint remains here. Condolences to all family and friends.

I was always thinking of him...I'm sure he and Uncle Francie are talking up a storm and Mommy is getting her hugs. His parents was my "extra" grandparents when I was little and Bill was just always a part of the family. Such a sweet, fun loving man. Always had a hug for me and Mommy. On behalf of the Spencers,Howard and Laura, Catherine and C.J., the Broys, Cathy(d) and Charlie and the Mackison family, all deceased...our thoughts and prayers are with you all...

Bill and I worked together from 1989-1993 as he provided funeral services for people that I conducted religious services for. Bill is 10 months older than me. He and his team of thoughtful and caring experts took care of all the requirements for transporting my wife to the Arlington National Cemetery for burial. If I die while still in the Louisville area, my instructions are for his funeral home to prepare me for burial with my wife in Arlington. I always looked forward to spending time with Bill. He exuded joy. He was like a brother to me. "Carry on Big Bill Jr and brothers!"

Dear Patti and family,
Words can not express our thoughts at this moment. Uncle Scottie was like a brother to Tat and there has always and will always be a close and special bond with the Scott and Tatlock families.
I have shared the news with Mom and she sends her love to all, wishing she could be there.
With all our love, we light a candle in celebration of the life of uncle Scottie.

Bill was a pillar of this community! A truly great man. I have been involved in a number of activities and he never failed to assist when asked. He has supported so many kids for so long that I would have to guess some are now grandparents. I held him up as an example to my students. I was blessed to have known him and I am grateful for the privilege! May the Lord comfort your family!

On behalf of a grateful nation for service in the US Navy as a radioman, we are thankful for men and women like William Scott that value the privileges of Liberty and Freedom above self. Our thoughts and prayers are with William and his family as he reports to his final duty station. He will no doubt continue to keep an ear out for communications received and transmit in the clear when conditions permit.

There shall be no greater tribute given to a man or a women then those who have had the honour of working with or embracing the love of life expressed each and every day by such a man as Bill Scott. There isn't a single person who knew him who doesn't have at least one memory that hasn't been imprinted in their very soul. He inspired so many to do more then they ever felt they could. As an Optimist he will never be replaced. As a fisherman he always left the big one for someone else. As a friend he leaves more then memories. Even if we are worlds apart we will always have you in our heart.

I believe, starting today they are laughing in heaven. His jokes were already heavenly gorgeous on earth, too. I’ll always remember him, my dear “Fat Middle Class American” who always introduced me as “Dumb Kraut”, when I lived with him and his family in 1970/71 as foreign exchange student!
Love to the whole Scott-family and I hope, we’ll see each other again.

It has been my privilege to work with Bill as a fellow Optimist and to call him a friend for more than 30 years. He was always a great source of encouragement, good humor, and pure Optimism at its best. His support as I served in various District offices and as District Governor of OI was unfailingly loyal and greatly valued. I shall miss Bill more than I can say. Bill always joked that, "I'll be the last one to let you down." He never let me down or any other Optimist who sought his help or guidance. Rest well, Bill and Godspeed.

Sorry for the passing of Bill..thanks for all the memories, you always knew that when you were with Bill, you were in for a treat.!!. And not sure of what might happen next. As he would say in addition to his "fav Miracle Whip" were "I'll be the last to let you down" or "the business had to file bankruptcy, we were going in the hole".."if you're down by the river, jump on in".."here is a left-handed pen"..loved the man and he will be missed.
