Funeral services for Cary Lee Dyson, 69, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 2605 W. St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, IN, with burial to follow at St. Joe Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN.  Cary passed away on July 4, 2018.

Cary was born October 21, 1948 in Jeffersonville, IN.  He was a 1966 Graduate of Jeffersonville High School and then received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Indiana University.  He was employed by Shelter Insurance for 25 plus years and then worked as an independent agent. He had a love of music and he carried that over to many different choral organizations including church choirs, St. Joseph Men’s Club, and the Voces Novae Choir.  Cary was active in many organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow, Catholic Youth Ministry, and the Knights of Columbus.  Cary was always working and volunteering to further the youth of the community. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy M. and James E. Dyson.

He is survived by his brother, Dwight Dyson (Stacy); aunts, Clara Smith and Elizabeth Williams; longtime friend, Patrick Robertson; and a host of cousins and extended family.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. John Paul II Catholic Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
