As we mature we drift away from childhood friends and schoolmates. I had the honor and pleasure to know George, Mike, and the Scholl family from St. Athanasius, Moore HS, and little beyond. I will always remember George as a always happy, kind and gentle friend. I am sure he will be missed as his father is. We shared good times in a simpler time. My true condolences..

One night about ten months ago as I was putting my 7-year-old to bed he asked me to tell him one of my stories. I said OK, let me tell you a story about an adventure I once went on with two of my friends. He usually perks up when he hears the word adventure. I went on to tell him the story of when Mike and George and I went on a bike ride around Louisville. We rode from Okalona where we lived, up to and through Cherokee Park, up Eastern Parkway, down Preston Highway back to Okalona. We began our adventure early in the morning and did not get back till late afternoon or early evening. It was an adventure and I can remember us having fun, watching each other’s backs, and sharing what little money we had for snacks and drinks, and being proud of our accomplishment in riding so far. Emerson appeared immersed in the story and smiled on occasion at a few of the details I provided. At the end of the story, I looked at him and patted him on the leg and said, “I hope you find good friends like that and go off on adventures.”
The day Mike called and told me about Georges passing I went home and told JoAnne about the phone call. Emerson the now 8-year-old overheard the conversation. He asked me later that evening if George was one of the boys I went on my bike adventure with. With a lump in my throat, I said yes he was.
Rest in Peace George

Life is fragile and so precious especially when we lose a loved one in death. May your family draw comfort in knowing that those sleeping in death are not suffering. The Bible’s wonderful hope found at Isaiah 25:8 tell us “He will swallow up death forever, and the sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” May this promise strengthen and comfort you during this time.

I’m so sorry to her about the passing of George! My sympathies and condolences go out to the family! George and I were great friends in High School, but we lost touch the last 10 years! I have often wondered what happened to George, searching FB and the internet looking for him. George was a great guy, great friend and he loved his family dearly!! R.I.P. George you will truly be missed!

My condolences to Vickie and Family.
George was an energetic and humorous soul, we were in high school together. He was a loyal patriot, a handsome husband and proud Father. May your pleasant memories comfort you in the loss of such a precious persona...

My Dear Uncle George,
You taught me life long values, made tons of beautiful memories, shared lots of love with everyone you met, and gave your dedication in all your work ventures.
You were such a great, strong, loving man and you will be dearly missed by all. Words can not express the saddness in my heart with your passing, and my empathy for Vicki, Lizzy, Jeremy along with his grandchildren.
I Love You Uncle George Forever and Always
