Obituary of Laura Sue Conner

Laura Sue Conner (Bone) – April 16, 1951

Laura was born April 16, 1951 to Jean and Norman Bone in Covington, IN. She attended Covington High School where she was a drum majorette in the high school band. After graduation she attended Indiana University, receiving her degree in Library Science in 1973. During her time at college she met her husband, Alan Conner.

Laura and Alan were married on August 5, 1973. They began their life together in Indianapolis where Alan attended dental school until his graduation in 1977. Laura worked at a dental practice during this time to help support their family.

They moved to Jeffersonville, IN in 1977 where Laura began her work at the Jeffersonville Township Public Library. She worked for the Public Library for 40 years. Their first son, Jay, was born in June 1979, and their second son, Gregory, was born in May 1983.

Laura was an active member of Tri-Kappa and spent many years on the board of directors for Clark County Soccer Association. Laura loved to read and shared that love with many school children through the 3-2-1 Read Program. Most importantly, she loved large family gatherings, where there was always room for anyone to come and share time together.

Laura passed away on March 27, 2019 surrounded by family at her home in Jeffersonville. She is survived by her mother, Jean Bone, of Covington Indiana, her loving husband of 45 years, Alan, their two sons Jay Gordon (Megan Brown) and Gregory Alan (Lindsay Johnston), 3 grandchildren and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
