A funeral service for Vada H. Leavitt, 88, of Jeffersonville, IN will be at 11 AM on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN with burial to follow at Kraft Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 19, from 3 PM – 8 PM at the funeral home. Vada passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital.

Vada was born on February 2, 1931 to the late Carl and Iola Haub. She was a very involved member of First Southern Baptist Church. She remained active throughout her life and enjoyed walking nearly every day. Vada also enjoyed sewing and crafting in her free time. Most of all, Vada loved to joke and have a good time with her friends and family.

Along with her parents, Vada is preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Leavitt; and siblings, Kenneth Haub, Calvin Haub, Aleene Dismore, and Carl “Blackie” Haub.

She is survived by her children, Dan R. Leavitt, Sr. and Carla L. Sale (Tony); grandchildren, Erin J. Whicker (Josh) and Dan R. Leavitt, Jr. “D.J.” (Ashley); brother-in-law, William B. Dismore; and two nieces and one nephew.
